Running JEdit 4.1final, Log Viewer 0.1, Sun JRE 1.4.1_03,
Windows 200.
When a file is open in the log viewer plug-in, other
applications are prevented from obtaining exclusive locks
on the file. I am using an application that appears to
use exclusive locking on the log file to solve the
multithreading issue. However, when I have the log file
open in the log viewer, the application never obtains the
exclusive lock.
I would understand if you took the position that this is
not a bug as it is reasonable to expect that the logging
application would allow at least read access to the log.
However, it would be nice if it could be fixed to work in
this situation.
